Let's play.
Improv is theater without a script. Kids play games, invent characters, build scenes together, and discover that mistakes can become the best part of the story.
No auditions. No previous theater experience required. Just come ready to play, listen, imagine, and say “yes, and!”

Theater should feel like a place you can belong.
Some kids walk into a theater class already dreaming about the spotlight. Some are nervous. Some are hilarious at home and suddenly shy around strangers. Some just want to make friends and try something new.
All of them deserve a place in the room.

Kids don't have to arrive confident or experienced. They can be exactly where they are and grow from there.

Along the way, students practice listening, teamwork, creativity, communication, and finding their voice.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE CLASS
HI, I'M ELIO.
I just want kids to have a place to do theater.
Brave Voices Academy was created because I believe theater should be available to young people here in our community— not only to kids who already know they want to be performers.
My goal is simple: create classes where kids can play, experiment, make friends, learn real theater skills, and leave feeling a little braver than when they walked in.
You do not have to be the loudest kid in the room. You do not have to have experience. You just have to be willing to step into the room and see what happens.

FOR PARENTS
Questions parents actually have.
My child has never done theater. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Brave Voices classes are designed to welcome beginners as well as kids with previous theater experience.
What if my child is shy?
That's okay too. Kids are never required to walk in already confident. Theater games give students small, playful ways to participate and build comfort over time.
Does my child have to audition?
No auditions are required for the current Brave Voices classes described on this site.
Where do I register?
Brave Voices classes are offered through Woodland Park Parks & Recreation, so registration is handled through the Parks & Recreation registration system.
What should my child bring?
For most classes, comfortable clothes and a willingness to play are the important parts. Specific class instructions will be provided through the Parks & Recreation registration information.
What if I have a question before registering?
